The Quality Supports Specialist – Adult provides services to Hope support recipients in adult support services through their work in monitoring service delivery effectiveness via implementation and coordination of quality improvement activities and initiatives. This position works collaboratively with Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) team members and engages in adult service delivery operations, as assigned, to identify areas of opportunity through observation, training and mentoring, progress reporting, and implementation of strategic initiatives, as directed. The Quality Supports Specialist provides technical assistance and guidance for all levels of staff in applying evidenced based, leading-edge methods for improving the quality of comprehensive support services and Agency processes and expectations. This position promotes standards of excellence in services and acts as a resource, coach, and role-model for direct support staff. The Quality Supports Specialist - Adult maintains loyalty to the organization, its beliefs, values, mission, vision, and expectations and to the recipients of services.



  1. Serves as a resource and integral support to direct support staff, supervisors and directors of adult support services.
  2. Provides mentorship and ongoing consultation to multi-disciplinary teams to adopt CQI principles and methods in the delivery of support services, which promote: individuals with disabilities living self-determined lives and opportunities for citizenship and community membership.
  3. Utilizes a holistic methodology that considers contexts including cultural, physical, social-emotional, and spirituality elements.
  4. Provides technical assistance and on-the-job training to adult support services staff Agency-wide to support Hope’s mission of ensuring quality supports. Recommends and implements re-training strategies as appropriate.
  5. Collaborates with the CQI team to determine needs assessment for quality improvement activities within adult support services.
  6. Performs all quality improvement activities identified by the CQI team and department head.
  7. Oversees implementation and review of quality improvement activities to ensure services operate within Agency, state, federal, and accreditation guidelines.
  8. Serves as a content expert for development and implementation of interventions or supports based on CQI team assessment and recommendations.
  9. Acts as a liaison between the CQI team and adult support services.
  10. Takes guided initiative to ensure the purpose of the CQI team is implemented with objectivity and purpose through effective communication and team building.



  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education, Social Sciences or related area required. Experience in lieu of education may be accepted on a two for one basis in appropriate fields.
  2. Two years of experience in teaching, training, or coaching for process improvement required, one year of which must contain experience in data gathering and reporting.
  3. One year of experience providing direct supports to adults experiencing intellectual or developmental disabilities required.


  • Ability to lift 25lbs from a squat and kneel position
  • Possess a valid Alaska driver license and proof of insurance
  • Provide a driving record that meets Agency guidelines
  • Pass a criminal background check under state regulation
