The Community Support Supervisor (CSS) teaches, coaches, and mentors staff who oversee services for Individuals of all ages who experience disabilities.  The CSS oversees the delivery of services to support recipients as determined in their Plan of Care.  This includes ensuring the services address the health and safety needs of the support recipients and provide positive learning and inclusion opportunities. 


Must be organized and have good attention to detail.  The ability to make sound decisions while handling challenging situations will be critical to success.  The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to provide effective leadership to team members and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.


The typical schedule for this position is Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm; however, there is some variability due to caseload and needs of people receiving Hope’s supports. 


  1. Develops staff through teaching, coaching, and mentoring in the delivery of quality services to adult support recipients.
  2. Supervises, develops, evaluates, counsels and disciplines staff.
  3. Schedules staff and monitors and ensures staff training compliance.
  4. Develops goals and objectives in partnership with support recipients in alignment with their desired outcomes and ensures staff implementation.
  5. Monitors service utilization and goal progress for support recipients and implements corrections as necessary.
  6. Ensures direct support staff provide assistance to support recipinets in accessing services in the community.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Science, Social Science or Special Education or related field with an emphasis of study in developmental disabilities.
    • Experience may be substituted for education on a two for one basis
  • Two (2) years work experience in social services, supported employment services
  • One (1) year of which involves responsibility in case management with supervisory experience


  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. from a squat-and-kneel position
  • Possess a valid Alaska driver license and proof of insurance
  • Provide driving record that meets agency guidelines
  • Pass a criminal background check under state regulation
