The Home Alliance Coordinator (HAC) is a live-in position that provides a positive and nurturing living environment for two residents who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities. The HAC provides leadership to the operations of an assisted living home and involves providing hands on support in all activities of daily living and community inclusion opportunities.

The Home Alliance Coordinator works 16-hour days and has every other weekend off.  The HAC and is provided private quarters in the assisted living home rent-free. The compensation is approximately $62,868 annually, which includes calculation for anticipated over-time.  This position may also be asked to work 2- 3 months in Anchorage (housing included) to help the residents transition to the home in Kenai.


***NOTE: There is a possibility that this position could be a Shared HAC position, depending on applicant interest.  The Shared HAC position works 16-hour days but for 3 1/2days and has the other 3 1/2 days of the week off.  This position pays $11.25/hr approximately $765 per week including overtime.  Shared HACs are required to have other housing available for their days off. 


  1. Assists in the development of the Plan of Care; develops written implementation schedules to assist the individual in meeting the goals outlined in the Plan of Care.
  2. Implements support services as outlined in the Plan of Care, including but not limited to, activities of daily living, day habilitation, employment, inclusionary activities and active learning.
  3. Provides direct care as needed in various activities such as personal finances, shopping, meal preparation, and activities of daily living, which include bathing, toileting, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, etc.
  4. Assure appropriate maintenance, cleanliness and safety of physical site and home vehicle.



  • Bachelor Degree in a health-related field


  • Completion of an approved management, administrator, or CNA training course and one (1) year or experience working with people who experience disabilities


  • Two (2) years experience working with people who experience developmental disabilities 


  • An equivalent combination of related education and experience




Two (2) years supervisory, teaching, or mentoring experience 


Please note: Written proof of experience will be required at the time of hire. Written proof includes: transcripts, employee evaluations or written employment verification from a previous employer.



  • Ability to lift 35 lbs, or 1/3 of body weight, on a regular basis
  • Must be 21 years or older, per State of Alaska regulations
  • Possess a valid driver license & at least 3 years of driving experience (may include permit time)
  • Provide driving record that meets agency guidelines
  • Pass a criminal background check under state regulation
