    The Training Assistant provides services to Hope support recipients through their work in assisting the training team in the planning, coordinating, scheduling and tracking of Agency professional development and training activities. This includes managing processes related to course sign-up, attendance, data entry, document management, and quality assurance. Responsibilities also include scheduling training space, preparing materials and communicating with instructors. The Training Assistant maintains and organizes class materials and completes data entry into the human resources information system (HRIS) and other systems in a timely manner. The Training Assistant maintains loyalty to the organization, its beliefs, values, mission, vision, and expectations, and to the recipients of services.


    • Prepares, organizes, and maintains training related data and files including documents, correspondences, class rosters, and schedules, physically and electronically, per departmental and retention requirements.
    • Completes data entry and quality assurance for all training documents for internal and external systems, including the HRIS, Red Cross, and Mandt systems, in an accurate and thorough manner with minimal errors and within required timelines.
    • Communicates with employees, supervisors, and administrative assistants when incomplete paperwork is submitted and advises appropriate parties when corrections are needed.
    • Receives phone calls and emails as entry point of contact for the Training team. Responds to employee training inquiries in an appropriate manner within required Agency timelines.
    •  iReserves training space and arrives timely to prepare space for class, including preparation of course materials and coordination with IT to establish video teleconferencing channels as needed.



    • Associate degree in Business or related field required. Experience in lieu of education may be accepted on a two for one basis in appropriate fields.


    • Two years of progressively responsible office work experience required.
    • Experience working in an educational system or other training related program preferred.



    • Possesses a valid Alaska driver’s license and has at least one (1) year of driving experience (may include permit time). Obtains a driving record at time of employment, annually thereafter, and as requested by management.
    • Ability to safely operate Agency vehicles when needed. Possesses reliable transportation and vehicle insurance when transporting support recipients or conducting Agency business.
    • Meets State and Agency requirements for passing a criminal background check upon hire and as required thereafter. 
    • Lifts 35 pounds from a squat and kneel position on the floor.
    • Works at a desk/computer workstation for a minimum of six hours per day. May be required to occasionally walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, pull, and/or push.
