    Job Summary:

    The Records Assistant provides services to Hope support recipients through their work in filing all Agency documentation. This position requires a high degree of focus during the completion of filing tasks. The duties also involve interaction with Agency staff in regard to the activities within the Health Information Management (HIM) department. A high degree of customer service is required. The Records Assistant maintains loyalty to the organization, its beliefs, values, mission, vision, and expectations and to the recipients of services.


    Job Duties:


    Essential Job Duties


    •  Files all Agency documentation in electronic and physical paper formats.
    •  Creates new Agency master files as needed in electronic format.
    •  Assists HIM Specialist with the archival of records according to the Agency retention schedule.
    •  Converts paper documents to digital/electronic files.
    •  Retrieves and duplicates files for Agency staff as requested and controls distribution to authorized staff only.
    •  Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
    •  Logs weekly paperwork received from the Document Control Clerks. Assists with HR and Training related requests in the absence of the HIM Specialist.
    •  Assists in maintaining Electronic Health Records.
    •  Ensures complete confidentiality of HIM documentation at all times.





    • High school diploma or G.E.D.
    • 1 year of general clerical experience


    • Ability to lift 25 lbs. from a squat-and-kneel position
    • Possess a valid Alaska driver license and proof of insurance
    • Provide driving record that meets agency guidelines
    • Pass a criminal background check under state regulation
