  • Overview

    The Hope Studios Lead provides services to Hope support recipients through their work in ensuring the integrity of the collaborative process within Hope’s Art Studio. The Hope Studios Lead ensures art produced within the studio remains purely the individual’s own, enhancing its artistic appeal through the collaborative process. The Hope Studios Lead ensures the health and safety of support recipients and provides a wide range of services. This position is responsible for oversight of the studio operations including organizing, coordinating, and facilitating daily schedules, and events. This position maintains functional authority over direct support staff and volunteers in the studio and is responsible for studio coverage, ensuring appropriate services delivery ratios, and staff schedules. The Hope Studios Lead facilitates communication amongst all members of the support recipient’s team as well as the internal team; direct care staff, case manager, and the Director.


    Job Duties:


    Essential Job Duties


    •  Provides oversight of the daily operations of the Art Studio. Provides functional supervision for direct support staff working in the Art Studio.
    •  Coordinates daily Art Studio activities, including scheduling staff, ensuring consistent hours are available to artists, and artists are adhering to their written schedules.
    •  Develops and counsels staff through teaching, coaching and mentoring to ensure respectful relationships with support recipients are fostered.
    •  Operates the studio within budgetary guidelines, including responsibility for staff allocations in alignment with departmental budget.
    •  Ensures appropriate staffing ratios are maintained and services are provided as delineated in the Plans of Care and/or Support Plans.
    •  Coordinates, and provides if necessary, transportation to meet support recipients’ schedules, including public transportation and purchase of Anchor rides tickets.
    •  Ensures appropriate cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of physical site (studios floor and grounds) and the studio vehicle.
    •  Completes and processes Agency documentation within required timeframes verifies, approves, and quality assures daily log notes, service notes, goal tracking, and other documentation generated by staff working in the studio.




    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Health or Social Science, Special Education or other related field preferred. Emphasis study in developmental disabilities preferred.
    • AND
    • Two (2) years' of directly related experience required.
    • One (1) year supervisory and administrative experience strongly preferred.



    • Valid AK driver license, responsible driving record and proof of vehicle insurance
    • Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks
    • Ability to lift 35 lbs, or 1/3 of body weight, whichever is less, on a regular basis
    • Must be 21 years or older
