    We are currently seeking experiencedpassionate, and caring people to work with individuals who experience developmental and physical disabilities.  Join our team as an Intensive Support Associate (ISA) that supports individuals directly by teaching and modeling personal care and independent living skills, following a behavior support plan, providing opportunities to participate in the community, and completing paperwork.


    The Intensive Support Associate (ISA)provides services to Hope support recipients by providing
    direct care support and services to those who have challenging behaviors and intensive support
    needs. This position takes appropriate steps, utilizing agency or treatment directed supports and
    trainings to deescalate individuals who may become physically or verbally aggressive. The ISA
    may be assigned to work in an Agency home or may work with support recipients in the
    community or in support recipients’ homes. This position provides continual heightened vigilance
    in supervision and monitoring required for the safety of the support recipient and/or others while
    teaching activities of daily living, as well as social and communication skills to foster
    independence. The ISA explores, develops, and assists with support recipients’ participation in
    community inclusion activities, and provides opportunities for support recipients to work on goals
    and objectives as outlined in Plans of Care and/or various other support plans. This position
    ensures compliance with appropriate behavioral limits specified within the Plans of Care, Behavior
    Support Plans, Individualized Interaction Guidelines, Emergency Response Plans, and prescribed
    mental health coping strategies or treatment interventions, as applicable. The ISA understands the
    serious nature of a person’s history while supporting them to live a meaningful life of dignity. The
    Intensive Supports Associate maintains loyalty to the organization, its beliefs, values, mission,
    vision, and expectations, and to the recipients of services.


    We provide paid classroom and on-the-job training; it is not necessary for applicants to have prior experience, just a positive attitude and willingness to learn!


    We are hiring both full time and part time positions NOW!  


    Most available positions require availability on the weekends and holidays.

    Most schedules offer afternoon and evening hours and vary by location.

    Positions can include providing supported living, day habilitation, group home, and community activity supports.

We provide services through regional offices located in Anchorage, the Mat-Su Valley, Dillingham, Kodiak, Seward, Barrow, and the Kenai Peninsula. We also serve the outlying areas and numerous rural communities within each region.

    1. Provides support services as outlined in the Plan of Care and/or support plan and behavioral
    health protocols, including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, activities in the
    community, and behavior supports.
    2. Teaches and assists support recipients to safely access services and participate in
    community activities. Collaborates with community partners to provide holistic support
    and supervision.
    3. Provides continual heightened vigilance in supervision and monitoring. Adjusts
    supervision levels as appropriate and according to support plans.
    4. Assists with personal financial management.
    5. Teaches and assists support recipients with daily personal hygiene and care, household and
    personal chores, and recreation.
    6. Models and mentors positive communications and behaviors. Pre-teaches alternatives and
    manages less desirable behaviors through informal assessment and implementation of
    7. Understands and applies concepts of verbal and physical de-escalation strategies as taught
    by agency approved systems.
    8. Collaborates and communicates with all members of the team to assist with the
    coordination of services, development and implementation of support plans, and monitor
    their effectiveness. Fully participates in each person’s behavior support team meeting as
    needed or requested.
    9. Develops and maintains positive professional relationships with families and guardians.
    Ensures schedule changes are communicated with families, homes, and the supervisor.
    10. Coordinates transportation for support recipients, which may include transporting in
    personal vehicle, arranging public transportation, and/or through the use of vehicles
    assigned to the Agency’s Assisted Living homes.
    11. Monitors support recipients’ health and reports health concerns to appropriate supervisor
    and/or parent/guardian. Assists with following medical orders and medication
    administration and documentation, as specified by support recipient’s medical
    professional(s). Accompanies and participates in appointments as requested.
    12. Completes accurate, timely, and thorough documentation, including but not limited to,
    service notes, goal tracking, incident reports, and timecards, to be in compliance with
    Agency standards and federal and state regulations.
    13. Monitors environments, vehicles, equipment, and events for safety, accessibility,
    maintenance, and cleanliness.
    14. Works a variety of hours and locations and with a number of different support recipients.


    Education and Experience

    1. High School diploma or GED; and

    2. Two years of directly related experience supporting individuals that demonstrate
    challenging and/or aggressive behaviors and require intensive supports that may include
    continual heightened vigilance in supervision and monitoring, formalized behavior
    management strategies, and/or verbal and physical de-escalation techniques.



    • Ability to lift 35 lbs, or 1/3 of body weight, whichever is less, from a squat-and-kneel position
    • Must be 18 years or older, per State of Alaska regulations
    • Possess a valid driver license & at least 1 year of driving experience (may include permit time)
    • Provide driving record that meets agency guidelines
    • Pass a criminal background check under state regulation
